Constantin Calavros

Constantin Calavros is Professor Emeritus of Civil Procedure and Arbitration. He is widely regarded as a leading authority in these fields. His extensive writings on arbitration include, amongst others, a contemporary treatise on UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration as incorporated in the Greek legal order by virtue of Law no. 2735/1999 as well as a treatise on the grounds and proceedings for setting aside arbitral awards in domestic and international commercial arbitration. He is editor in chief of the Arbitration Law Review and of the Hellenic Review of Civil Procedure Law. He is also the managing partner at Calavros Law Firm, Filios· Babiniotis· Kloukinas leading the Firm's litigation and arbitration practice for more than 40 years. Apart from his extensive practice of arbitration in said capacity, he is regularly appointed as sole arbitrator or co-arbitrator in numerous ad hoc or institutional arbitrations.

Professor Julian DM Lew is a full-time arbitrator in international commercial and investment disputes. He accepts appointments as arbitrator in international commercial and investment disputes.

He has been involved with international arbitration for more than 40 years as an academic, counsel and arbitrator. Before 2005, Julian was a partner and, for some years, the head of the international arbitration practice group of Herbert Smith.

Professional expertise includes international transactions affecting investments, purchase and sale of corporate entities and assets, joint ventures, oil and gas exploration, development and production agreements, research and development and promotions of pharmaceutical and chemical products, mining and concession arrangements, distribution, agency, licensing contracts, infrastructure and construction projects, international trade finance, trading arrangements with developing countries, EC law and arbitration arising out of all such transactions.

Julian has been appointed as a sole, presiding and co-arbitrator in arbitrations under the rules of all the major arbitral institutions and under UNCITRAL and Swiss Chambers' Arbitration Institution rules.

He is Professor of International Arbitration and Head of the School of International Arbitration, Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London. He has held these positions since the School's creation in 1985.

Julian received the GAR Award for Best Prepared and Most Responsive Arbitrator in 2015.

Sébastien Besson

Sébastien Besson represents parties in arbitral and court proceedings, and serves as arbitrator.

He has acted as counsel, arbitrator and legal expert in numerous international arbitrations under a variety of arbitration rules, and in different jurisdictions. The scope of Sébastien's practice includes joint ventures and industrial cooperation, agency and distribution, sales contracts, licensing, construction, energy, M&A, finance and sports-related disputes.

He has published extensively on international arbitration and sport disputes. Notably he has co-authored (with Professor Jean-François Poudret) the well-known treatise Comparative Law of International Arbitration (Sweet & Maxwell, London, 2007).

Sébastien is a part-time professor at the University of Neuchâtel and has taught several courses on arbitration and the settlement of commercial disputes, including in the Geneva Master in International Dispute Settlement programme.

Luca is the founding partner of Arblit, an arbitration and litigation boutique in Milan.

He is also a Full Professor at the School of Law of the Università Cattolica di Milano, where he holds the chair of Private International Law and is the Director of the Institute of International Studies. He currently teaches also Law of International Arbitration and Transnational Commercial Law. In the course of his career as a tenured professor in several Italian universities since 1987 he also taught European Union law, public international law and competition law.

Luca is the author and editor or co-editor of six books and one commentary and over 100 articles published in Italian and international journals on issues of private international law, the law of arbitration, public international law, European Union law, competition law, telecommunications law, international financial law (Publications). He is a regular speaker at, and organizer of, academic and practitioners' conferences, symposia, workshops and courses, in Italy and abroad. He is also the Vice President of the LCIA.

Audley Sheppard is a Partner and Co-Head of the International Arbitration Group at Clifford Chance LLP, based in London.

He specializes in the resolution of major disputes arising out of infrastructure and energy projects, and international trade and investment. He also sits as an arbitrator.

He was appointed King's Counsel in 2015.

Audley is Chairman of the LCIA Board.

He is also a Visiting Professor, School of International Arbitration, Queen Mary, London.

He is a former: Vice-President of the LCIA Court; Member of the ICC Court; Co-Chair of the IBA Arbitration Committee; and Rapporteur of the ILA Arbitration Committee.

Publications include: ‘Res judicata and estoppel’ in "Parallel State and Arbitral Procedures in International Arbitration“ (ICC, 2005).
